I love attending fairs. However, is it possible that you only attend a fair and eat nothing? If you ask me, I’ll say ‘No’. Out of the countless stalls set up at fairs, I enjoy eating churros. Churros are a popular Mexican delight. To understand the popularity of churros, I suggest you explore the streets of Mexico, especially during the rainy season. Churros stalls are so crowded. It indicates how much people love churros – weather conditions like heavy rain cannot stop them from waiting in a queue to buy a handful of churros for themselves and their families. Chocolate dip served with churros is the game-changer of this dish.

I, too, was on that list. My family scolded me for stepping out during the rain to buy crispy churros. However, I remained unaffected until the COVID-19 pandemic and lockdown, when we had no option but to eat fresh, homemade foods. Whenever I craved churros, I made them fresh. And, guess what! It turned out to be perfect at once. Since then, I’ve become a pro at making homemade churros. And, yes! Since then, whenever I crave authentic churros, I make them at home. No more buying churros from food stalls! So, are you excited to learn how to make the best churros? If yes, I suggest you read the entire guide.

However, let’s not forget the difference that lies in their preparation method – baking versus frying. Now, let’s unleash what makes people go crazy for eating churros. So yes, their crunchiness outside and fluffiness inside make them go so crazy for eating churros that even weather conditions like heavy rain cannot stop them.

Now, let’s unleash the ingredients that make the best homemade churros:

How to Make Churros?
To make churros:
- Boil oil, water, salt and sugar.
- When it has come to a boil, turn off the flame and mix the flour.
- Let it cool, and transfer the dough to the piping bag.

- Add oil to the frying pan – neither too hot, nor too cold and heat it gently. Add something to the oil. If you observe light bubbles, it indicates that you can fry.
- Then what? Drop the strips into the oil and fry them on a medium heat.
Pro Tip: Rather than removing the strips after turning golden brown, let them cook properly from the inside. Reduce the flame after adding oil to the pot.

- Once perfectly cooked, coat them with a cinnamon-sugar mixture.
Note: Temperature regulation is prime in frying churros properly. The oil’s temperature should not exceed 195°C. If the oil’s temperature exceeds the required temperature, turn off the flame or add raw oil to the pan.

Serving Options
I suggest pairing homemade churros with these lip-smacking dips for their incredible taste:
